Briefed to maximize on built area whilst preserving the natural greenery, the client had a specific request to maintain the existing building’s character, however replacing the existing hipped tiled roof with an open-to-sky roof terrace, overlooking scenic views. The idea was to carefully remove the old clay roof tiles & incorporate them elsewhere, including on the new Auxiliary Unit & Servant’s quarters over the new 6 car Garage. This helped preserve character, as well as keep costs down.
